Introducing a Teo limited edition with shades illustrated by Lucio Schiavon
Designed by Nichetto Studio for Salvatori, the Teo table lamp is not just a functional home accessory but an invitation to unleash your creativity and design a bespoke object. Comprising a natural stone base and a shade made from a sheet of paper, Teo represents a dialogue between sought-after materials and aesthetic versatility.
The base comes in a choice of cool white Bianco Carrara, striking red Rosso Levanto and elegant green Verde Guatemala, each marble striking visual harmony with whatever sheet of paper you pair it with, whether that is the white, pink, green or grey options it is accompanied by.
The beauty of Teo, however, is that the colour choices don’t stop here. We have teamed up with renowned Venetian illustrator Lucio Schiavon to create a truly unique limited edition. The artist has put his own extraordinary spin on Teo with three original designs that transform Teo into a work of art that lights up the room in every sense of the word.
The art of Lucio Schiavon and an invitation to unleash creativity
“My starting point for the paper shades of the wonderful Teo lamp designed by my friend Luca Nichetto for Salvatori was the art form of Chinese shadow play. You see the magic of transparency when a black ink brushstroke loses its weight and dimension and becomes a faint shadow, coiled in a cone of light. The joy of seeing one of my designs illuminated is a revelation because as an artist, I rarely think about the usefulness of my creations beyond seeing them hung on a wall. But in this case, they are an intrinsic part of an extraordinary design object.”
As the artist himself describes above so eloquently, his illustrations are a dialogue with the light itself, creating a poetic, dynamic effect that makes every lamp unique. This special edition also showcases the way Teo can also become an illuminated memory holder, with every sheet of paper telling a story or allowing you to express your creative side.
